The historical development of Sunds Elastik:

Sunds Elastik vas founded by Mr. Frans Mathiasen in 1975, where he started the production of basis elastic on a few machines in a small building. On 1st January 1985 he moved the factory to Navervej 13, Sunds in a new building of 600 m2. Two year later, more land was bought, and another building of 600 m2 was made so the total production area was 1.200 m2.

On the 1st January 1994 Mr. Frans Mathiasen sold Sunds Elastik to Aage Nielsens Eftf, Ikast, who was a wholesaler of accessories to the textile industry and who also sold apprx. 90% of the production from Sunds Elastik.

On 1st January 1995, Mr. Svend Erik Nielsen was appointed daily manager of the factory in Sunds.

On 1st January 2000 Sunds Elastik was made an A/S (limited company) with new owners, Bent Fogh Povlsen Aps. with 75 % of the shares and Mr. Svend Erik Nielsen with 25% of the shares.

In the years before, Sunds Elastik established their own sales organisation in order to be more independent of the wholesalers and also be able to service the industry on a direct basis. Shortly after that, the globalisation started and the Danish textile industry slowly moved the production to low cost countries and the customer base would be reduced by apprx. 90 % over a period of 2 – 3 years. For this reason the company employed a person who should explore the possibility of exporting some of the items which was produced by Sunds Elastik. Furthermore a production co-operation was made with a factory in Check Rep. and Portugal. These companies has the same type of machines as Sunds Elastik as well as they have more specialised machines, which should result in a more competitive range of standard products. At the same time Sunds Elastik started to import other items (zippers and hook and loop tape) for the furniture industry.

In order to follow the development (winding up) of our customers, these were split up into 3 groups:

Industry
Clothes (Underwear and work wear)
Fashion

To be able to stock all the imported goods an external warehouse of 300 m2 were leased.

On 1st December 2005 the ownership were changed at a management buy out. The owners after this, is now SEN Holding Sunds Aps. with 80 % of the shares and EJ Holding Lind Aps. with 20% of the shares.

1st September 2006 the external warehouse was closed down and all goods were moved to Navervej 13. This was possible, because our stock of yarn and rubber for our own production were reduced very much at that time, as a decision were made about moving all the production machines.

During January 2007 all the machines for production of basic elastic and tape were moved to the factory in Check Rep. Left back in Sunds are only a few machines for the production of standard cords. At the same time the company name were changed to Textile-Trimmings by Sunds Elastik in order to show that it is not only elastic, which we produce and sell.
